Whole30 Blog #4 (1/17/16)

Seven days down!

Let's start with the confessions: I did have a glass of wine Friday night.  But it's only because I HAD to get rid of that last bit of wine in the fridge.  I couldn't just dump it down the drain.  I'd be kicked out of the official program for this, but since we're all friends here, I'll just promise to not do it again, okay?

So I have some breakfast ideas and pictures from this past week to share.

egg and banana pancakes

kitchen sink scramble

berries and coconut milk

My husband and I were very responsible today (Sunday) and made out a full meal plan for the entire week, a grocery list, and at 9:30 p.m. he went to the store for everything we needed.  Boom!  That's how it's done ladies and gentlemen.

I will be attempting mayonnaise again this week.  I've watched videos and reread the directions, all of which confirmed there were several mistakes made in my last attempt.  But that's how we learn right?

In terms of feelings so far: I'm happy with the type, taste, and amount of food.  We've discovered some beverages that are tricking our brains and are quite enjoyable (lime essential oil and sparkling water on the rocks - yummy!).

We have three books from which we are pulling recipes so we feel completely equipped to handle the remaining 23 days.  Besides Whole30, the two additional books we are using are:

Practical Paleo by Diane Sanfilippo
The 30 Day Guide to the Paleo Diet Meal Plan by Bill Staley and Hayley Mason

Bill and Hayley run a website that is phenomenal.  I have it listed on my Favorites page.

I guess that's it for tonight.  Are there any questions, comments, shares?  Please, I'm lonely here.

Hugs everyone, Heather
